What is Happening in First Grade?
Math
Students will review math concepts that have been studied in first grade (time, money, addition, subtraction, measurement, fractions, and shapes).

Social Studies
Students will learn about how things have changed from the past to the present. Students will examine their own life and map out 6 events in chronological order on a timeline.
Language Arts
​
The class will create and decorate a picture frame. They will apply different stickers to the frame and will place inside the frame a picture of them with a friend so they remember first grade!
Writing
Students will write a letter to their second grade teacher. They will include in their letter something they are good at doing and something that is a challenge for them.
Homework
Students should read 15 minutes every night this week.

Students should complete their math homework.
Centers
The class will complete independent centers in their zone of proximal development. As students are working, I will conference with small groups as we examine different reading and comprehension strategies.
